The European Halal Development Agency is setting the pace for the development of advanced and robust Halal standards in order to fulfil the requirements of Halal as laid down in the Shariah.

The European Halal Development Agency (EHDA) is a Halal Standards body that has produced a very advanced European Halal Standard (EHS). This standard was produced by leading technical and religious experts after conducting an intensive gap analysis of all the world leading Halal Standards to identify gaps in the existing Halal Standards and to ensure all areas of Halal certification and auditing are covered from farm to plate to deliver 100% Halal Assurance to the Muslim consumer. EHDA’s European Halal Standard (EHS) also focuses on Taiba (wholesome, cleanliness, and purity) by incorporating  BRC and HACCP elements into this Standard to provide a complete whole supply chain Halal and Tabia Assurance. This standard  also reflects British EN45011 requirements.

The European Halal Development Agency has grown from strength to strength by working in partnership and collaboration with many countries in Europe and also across the world in sharing our expertise to deliver Halal to the Muslim consumers worldwide.

The European Halal Development Agency does not deliver audits, this is done buy third party auditors. In this way EHDA’s certification process is both robust and transparent. All auditors have to undertake rigorous Halal Auditor training, which includes topics on technical, legal and Halal  aspects. Auditors are required to pass an exam before they are approved by The European Halal Development Agency to conduct audits against the European Halal Standard (EHS).
